ARTWORK: Camera-ready artwork should be 600 DPI. Artwork may also be sent on a 3 1⁄2" or zip disk, CD-ROM, or by e-mail.* Multi-color: Because we print on a round, flexible surface, ink colors will shift up to 1/8". Please allow for variation in the registration on your printed balloon order. We do random inspections during printing and packaging but, 100% inspection is not possible or cost effective for a latex balloon. Balloons need to be inflated and viewed from a normal viewing distance of 5 feet in order to evaluate colors and printing. All
multi-color art must be reviewed at factory, as not all art is suitable for balloon printing.
*ELECTRONIC ART: We are PC based, but can accept some Mac files. Send original files from Freehand 9, CorelDraw 10, and Illustrator CS. EPS files are also acceptable. Electronic artwork files cannot be e-mailed any larger than
1 MB or they must be compressed. Send one-color designs only as Tiff files. JPEGS generally do not work because they do not output as sharp images. We can except PDF files that have preserved vector editing capabilities.
Important! All type fonts must be converted to line (or curves). Do not send fonts with artwork. Artwork to be screened should be provided electronically as vector graphics so that we can size appropriately for printing.
PRINTING SCREENS: Artwork/screens are kept for the current year placed plus two more years.
BASIC TYPESETTING: No charge.
ART SERVICES: $45.00 per hour. Average costs to clean up B&W artwork are $20.00 - $100.00 and will be quoted at receipt of order. (Min. charge: $20.00).
Pantone (PMS) color selections are available at not extra charge.
Although we do our best to match you color choice, we can’t guarantee an exact match. For the best contrast of ink color to the balloon color, we recommend light ink colors on dark balloons and ark ink colors on light balloons. This may require an ink color change. |

CARE AND HANDLING: Uninflated latex balloons should be stored in a cool, dry place in closed containers or bags. Exposure to light and air over an extended period will cause balloons to become stiff, brittle, and discolored. Inflating balloons close to the time of your event will ensure that they will look their best and stay floating the longest.
An inflated balloon is subject to conditions, which can cause breakage or reduced float-time. Change in temperature, air movement from wind or fans and high humidity both indoors and outdoors can create a hazy film on the balloon surface.
Proper Latex Balloon Inflation: A balloon is fully inflated when it just starts to change shape from a round to a gentle light-bulb shape. Tip: If balloon is slightly overinflated and then reduced slightly in size before closing, it is stretched and will be less likely to break from handling and outdoor conditions.
Latex Balloons and the Environment: Latex balloons are a totally natural product made from the sap of rubber trees. They biodegrade from exposure to ultraviolet light and ozone, and have been proven to decompose in nature at a faster rate than oak leaves.
Proper release of balloons requires that no ribbons or plastic closures be used. Once released, balloons travel high into the sky and shatter from the cold temperatures and lack of air pressure. The small fragments that do float back to earth are widely dispersed to decompose with other natural materials.
